Drastic decisions in a difficult time for VIeW Premium Selection: the Munich trade fair is taking a break following the recently concluded edition and has decided not to organise the December event.
This decision was explained by Florian Klinder, CEO of Munich Fabric Start Exhibitions: “The reason is the current market situation. There are too many trade fair dates on the calendar, and both the number of exhibitors and visitors is falling across the sector. Under these conditions, a December edition would not offer the quality and relevance we expect for this format. With this decision, we are boosting demand for the next edition of Munich Fabric Start from 20 to 22 January 2027”.
Despite the introduction of a new format – designed for a smaller trade fair featuring a select portfolio of high-end fabric and trimmings manufacturers – VIeW Premium Selection failed to inspire confidence for the future, even though the two-day event in Munich led to face-to-face meetings, in-depth discussions and even orders.
Cambio, Hugo Boss, Marc O’Polo, Peter Hahn and Olymp were among the brands that attended to view the approximately 70 collections exhibited by international companies: “The more exclusive, the better” was the response from exhibitors and visitors alike.
The spotlight now shifts to Munich Fabric Start for the launch of the Spring/Summer 28 season, alongside Bluezone, Keyhouse and The Source
