A good debut on the Paris fashion scene for Chic: the Chinese show brought twenty companies to Who’s Next in the Fashion China pavilion.
Many of the 1,330 visitors to Who’s Next at Porte de Versailles saw the clothing, footwear, accessories and jewellery collections of the foreign exhibitors: “Back to school” was the motto chosen by the fair for this edition with many new features.
Chic, the China International Fashion Fair, brought a selection of brands under the Eiffel Tower: “By presenting the best Chinese brands and designers at one of Europe’s most famous fashion fairs, Who’s Next, Chic took on an ambassadorial role to gain a greater understanding of the cultural value of Chinese design and culture in communication between East and West,” explained Chen Dapeng, President of the China National Garment Association.
Chic occupied around 900 square metres with the Fashion China pavilion, presenting a selection of women’s, men’s and sportswear as well as hats.
“This selection also has a political dimension and offers a new showcase for the Chinese market, its skills and craftsmanship. Chinese fashion is often associated with ‘fast fashion’, but our mission is to delve deeper into the Chinese ecosystem,’ says Sylvie Pourrat, director of the French show.
The appointment with Chic at home is next March, from 6 to 8, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
