Blossom is a treasure trove of inspiration

As we look forward to 9 and 19 December, when the trade fair returns to the Carreau du Temple, Blossom PV takes the opportunity to conduct an in-depth analysis with the event’s organiser, Florence Rousson, head of the Fashion division at Gl events.

“We’ve invested in the date, in a more direct approach and in a format with fewer exhibitors, making it easier to manage,” she says at the end of the two-day event, which also offered a glimpse into Première Vision Paris, previewing some of its colours and trends.

Date, venue and figures for a winning combination: “The timing is right,” the manager continues, “as is the venue, given that we’re very close to the major fashion houses. We can envisage growing a little, perhaps up to 150 exhibitors, but no more than that. Another idea is to combine textiles and fashion with elements from other sectors – from art to photography or music – to provide further inspiration. In the meantime, we’ve started with the new forum and by inviting Japanese designer Kai Otsuki, who shared his unique take on fashion.”

A good way to get a feel for Première Vision, which this time takes place in the very first few days of September: “The date,” explains Rousson, “is linked to the availability of venues at the Parc des Expositions; it wasn’t a deliberate decision on our part or a strategic choice. We were aiming for a date closer to the middle of the month, but that wasn’t possible.”

What can we expect from this edition?
There will once again be a theme, namely technology; the link with the beauty sector will be confirmed; a new partnership is on the cards; and at PVP we will also be integrating the textile offering with art demonstrations, photography and new service-related solutions.

Meanwhile, your international presence is expanding with Denim PV in Tokyo.
Yes, we’re continuing to focus on international markets. In Montreal, we’re maintaining our numbers; in Tokyo, we’re joining forces with Tranoi in a country where demand for denim is high, and we’ve already received responses from around fifteen companies. Every international market presents an opportunity, and perhaps we’ll be able to capitalise on some of them following the Mercosur agreement. Exhibitors are seeking opportunities for international growth through trade fairs with a more streamlined format, so we want to be ready.
